Pyrophoria

Pyrophoria is a module created for A Mystic Wood OSR Adventure Jam hosted by RedMageGM.
It is designed to be used with Shadowdark RPG.

A long time ago, a gigantic red dragon fell asleep in a woodland at the edge of the realm. The forest soon put down its roots all over the beast and began to feed on its magical essence. Slowly but surely, the surrounding vegetation and wildlife were subjected to the sleeping dragon’s influence, developing odd features: trees with dragon scales and self-combusting leaves, and deeply mutated animals. In the end, everything became one as the forest started to mirror the dragon’s subconscious state and troubled slumber.

Pyrophoria is a sandbox hexcrawling adventure module designed for a few sessions of play. It will lead the players into the Emberwoods, an odd mutated environment filled with dragon-obsessed factions striving to achieve their dragon-related goals.

The module features additional exploration rules to support the changing nature of the place, a hex map with several points of interest, custom themed potions with random side-effects, an open-air pointcrawl dungeon and a traditional underground dungeon.
